Putting coffee grounds in your garbage disposal is not recommended. While small amounts may seem harmless grounds accumulate in drain pipes creating dense pasty clogs over time. Coffee grounds don’t break down easily in water and stick to pipe walls and grease buildup. Instead compost coffee grounds or dispose of them in the trash. If grounds are already causing slow drainage flush the pipes with hot water and dish soap or use a drain snake.
