Fix a clogged garbage disposal by first turning it off and never putting your hand inside. Press the reset button underneath the unit. Use an Allen wrench in the bottom hex socket to manually rotate the grinding plate. Remove visible blockages with tongs or pliers. Run cold water and turn on the disposal. If water backs up plunge the sink drain or use a drain snake. Avoid chemical drain cleaners which can damage disposal components.
