Yellow bath water is typically caused by rust from corroding iron pipes dissolved iron in well water or disturbance in municipal water mains. Old galvanized pipes are the most common source. Run cold water for a few minutes to see if it clears. If only hot water is yellow the water heater may have internal corrosion. Install a whole-house iron filter or water softener. Contact your water utility if the issue appears suddenly across all fixtures.
